Objectives of World Environment Day

Ø  The purpose of the day is to draw attention to environmental issues and serve as a reminder that nature must not be taken for granted.

Ø  World Environment Day, a part of the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP) is celebrated with the motive of mobilizing businesses, governments, celebrities, and ordinary people to take action on urgent environmental challenges.

Ø  The World Environment Day events aim to create a global community that is concerned with the environment’s wellbeing, which will result in a transformation of the world.

Ø  The event obliges everyone to consider newer approaches to minimize resource consumption, create greener models, become more sustainable, safeguard wild spaces, train and motivate youngsters to live in harmony with nature, and for them to become custodians of a green future.

Outcome

Ø  World Environment Day is a significant global event that raises awareness, promotes action, and encourages positive change for environmental conservation.

Main Content:

Ø  Environment sustainability cell celebrated world environmental day on 5th June, 2023 with great zeal and enthusiasm by planting trees like Neem, Arjun, Gulmohar in the campus and the event was witnessed by faculty members staff and students. Dr. Nishant Joshi and deputy director dr. Tarika Singh planted Arjun tree and motivated everyone to take care of the environment. We also initiated seed balls distribution drive to faculty members, staff and students. Seed balls were of Sunflower, Balsam And Amaranthus. These seed balls were prepared by student volunteers of environment & sustainability cell.
