The Department of Computer Applications was established in 2024 and offers a Master of Computer Applications (M.C.A.) program, a full-time, three-year postgraduate course with an intake capacity of 60 students. The department is supported by a highly qualified team of faculty members who bring excellent academic achievements and expertise to the classroom. Course Description: The two-year Master of Computer Applications (M.C.A.) program is designed to prepare students for a professional/Technical career in the field of computer science and information technology. This intensive program equips students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills in software development, systems programming, database management, data science, and emerging technologies. The curriculum is structured to meet industry needs, emphasizing real-world applications and problem-solving techniques. The M.C.A. 2-year program is spread over four semesters. It includes core courses, elective courses, lab sessions, projects, and an internship. Each semester builds on prior knowledge, advancing the technical and analytical skills required to solve complex problems in computing.
As per Times of India "Indian IT companies currently serve two-thirds of the fortune 500 companies and have created 40 lakhs direct jobs in India". According to NASSCOM IT industry continues to be a net hirer and reports that 2.5-3 million new job will be created by 2025.

A candidate seeking admission to MCA Course should be a Graduate with at least 50% marks and 45% marks in case of SC, ST, OBC (excluding Creamy Layer) category candidates of Madhya Pradesh in aggregate of any UGC/AICTE approved Indian University or from a foreign University recognized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU) or institute recognized by the concerned University as equivalent thereto. Recognized Bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration with Mathematics at (10+2) level or at Graduate level.
Admissions in BCA programme are carried out on the basis of merit marks.The Admissions will be carried out by the institute as per the rules and Schedule announced by the MP HIGHER EDUCATION for Minority Institution.
Interview / counseling would be conducted on the day the form is submitted. If the forms are submitted by mail the date of interview would be informed. Students to contact admission committee* for interview dates.
Merit list would be placed on the institute notice board and on the website on every Monday during the admission period.
Selected students would need to deposit the tuition fee and caution money with in a week of the name appearing in the merit list.
Fee once deposited by him/her will not refunded under any circumstances.
Admission brochure can be purchased by sending a D.D of Rs 1000 in favour of Director ,Prestige Institute of Management, Gwalior , payable at Gwalior.
Application form can be downloaded, printed , filled and sent to the institute . In such cases admission form fee of Rs 1000 will be applicable. Drafts can be sent along with the completed form or cheque can be deposited at the below given bank details.
