Prestige Institute of Management, Gwalior organized Fifth International Conference on “Sustainability Management and the Power of Innovation” from January 10-12, 2014. The main objective of the conference is to explore the idea of sustainability management and the power of innovation. The Fifth International conference began with the inaugural ceremony in the gracious presence of Dr. A. K. Pandey, Chairman, Madhya Pradesh Private Universities, Regulatory Commission, Bhopal as chief guest, Prof. Shankarshan Achharya Professor, University of Illinois at Chicago and Dr. Joel M. Rodney, Dean-Academics, Apeejay School, New Delhi, as Guest of Honour, Special Guest Mr. M. S. Khari Indian Representative of AIA, London, UK; Key Note Speakers Prof. Ajeet N. Mathur, Professor, IIM Ahmedabad and Dr. Justin Paul Professor at University of Washington Forestor Business School USA .
The Inaugural session began with the details of the conference delivered by Organizing Secretary Dr. Vinod K. Bhatnagar. It was followed by welcome address by Dr. S. S. Bhakar Conference Chairman and Director PIMG and Dr. Davish Jain, Conference Patron respectively. The Chief Guest released the Souvenir. Dr Justin Paul and Prof. Ajeet N. Mathur, delivered their keynote addresses on the topic “Sustainability Management and the Power of Innovation”.
Special Guest Mr. Mahendra Khari in his address to the audience highlighted the challenges that India has to face competitive era of innovation in the financial market. Guest of Honor Professor Shankarshan Achharya talked about the practical aspect of the sustainability management and the power of innovation that are taking place in organizations today. Dr. Joel M. Rodney focused that sustainability in the organization is depend on the sustainable profitability.
Chief guest along with all the dignitaries on the dias unveiled the Book published on the papers submitted in the conference, Brochure of sixth International Conference, Brochure of Case writing workshop and brochure of Research Methodology Workshop. Chief Guest Dr. A. K. Pandey emphasized on implementation of eco-system and technological innovation in India. He also spoke that ethical education institute can sustain the education systems in India.
On this occasion Prof. Ajeet N. Mathue was awarded with Management excellence Award. The guests also felicitated faculty members Dr. K. K. Pandey and Dr. Aamitabh Maheshwari who completed their PhD Degrees. Dr. Richa Banarjee proposed the Vote of Thanks. The students of PIMG entertained the gathering by presenting cultural program which was a true representation of Indian Culture.
The conference brought together experts from various fields-academics and professionals-from different parts of world like USA, UK, Bangladesh, and India. For the first two days there were thirteen technical sessions and on third day a trip to Agra is organized. Apart from the deliberations on different subthemes of Finance, Marketing, Human resource, General management and Information Technology; a “Best Ph.D Thesis competition was also organized during the conference. The conference received an enormous response which can be seen from the number of research paper and thesis received; More than One hundred twenty research papers/articles and five theses were received for the conference. The conference deliberations are published in form of edited book, published by Bloomsbury India publishers.
The Valedictory Session was conducted in the gracious presence of Lt. Gen. V. K. Sharma, Vice-chancellor, Amity University, Gwalior as Chief Guest, Dr. Yogesh Upadhyay, Vice-chancellor, ITM University, Gwalior as guest of honor and Dr. Joel M. Rodney, Dean-Academics, Apeejay School, New Delhi as special guest.
Special Guest, Dr. Joel M. Rodeney shared and focused on the net of India. He also said that there is a strong relationship between movement and innovation. Guest of Honor, Dr. Yogesh Upadhyay shared his views about the sustainability changes that are taking place since the freedom and also indicated how the nation is developing and management and the power of innovation which prevail in every field. Chief Guest, Lt. Gen. V.K. Sharma Ji highlighted the issues of sustainability and power of innovation in the field of defence and education too. In the end vote of thanks were delivered by Dr. Richa Banarjee, Conference Secretary of 6th International Conference of Prestige Institute of Management, Gwalior.
